Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

So a few years ago, I was really disappointed in Lilly Pulitzer. When the Delia style was first introduced, I refused to buy it and many dresses from the Summer of 2013. What happened to the Worth shift? Is "this" the collections that would follow up the famous Lilly Originals and Jubilee Collections? I wrote an email begging the Pink Palace to reintroduce the Classic Shift and return our beloved lively prints...and I believe they heard me and many others that I know emailed their concerns for the brand.

Last year, the Pink Palace lengthened the Delia style for a more modest fit and introduced the Liz shift, which I bought in two prints, but after seeing preliminary pictures of the Spring collection back in October, I am glad Lilly is going back to its roots in its style of prints and styles of dresses. I am definitely buying that Jesse Skort Romper and the new Casey (old Liz) shift!!

What are your favorites from the new arrivals?

The Farm

During my visit to Kentucky, I got the chance to visit my family's historic farm near Lexington on Christmas Eve. I used to spend many weekends there growing up. It's where I learned to hunt and drive a truck. We started of our morning at a local Cynthiana favorite, Biancke's Restaurant, which has been opened since 1894.

My tassel necklace is from C.J. Laing on Nantucket.
We then went to visit my uncle and aunt back on then farm. We couldn't go back on the farm to visit the original cabin or family gravesite without tearing up the land due to the weather.

My sister is wearing an old J.Crew Excursion jacket and painter tee with brown Hunter boots.

Traveling for Christmas

CDK and I travel back home for Christmas every year. My husband is lucky though as he typically gets three weeks off at Christmas and can drive his Volvo down to Louisville because we do not go on long vacations. Since I have to work until the week before, I only get a precious week with my family at Christmas and usually fly. How do y'all like to travel?

I also typically dress well on airplanes...trying to throw back to a time when people dressed up to travel.

Running Essentials

I love running outside. I do not think I get the same workout in on the treadmill. I have some essentials I need every time I go out on a run.

York Design Co.

Marblehead is one of my favorite New England towns. I love to run through this old coastal fishing town with a rich history. Before finally seeing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I at the Warwick Cinema, my husband, CDK, and I decided to take a walk in "Downtown" Marblehead.

Isn't this Ski needlepoint cuff from York Design Co. the cutest? All of their cuffs add a classic flair to any outfit. I may be doing something fun with the cuff for my followers on Instagram soon...

The Conservative Prep's Holiday Gift Guide

Okay, it's been a while. A lot of positive things have kept my life very busy in the last few months and I can hopefully share that with you after Christmas, but with the holidays fast approaching (I was completely not ready for them), I have been keeping a small gift guide in the back of my head. I recently bought my first pair of Stubbs and Wootton and have been contemplating my second pair...What's on your Christmas/Holiday list?
